The Procedural Issues Committee deliberated on the application on the pre-term termination of the credentials for the Chief of the State Security Service, Anri Okhanashvili.

As David Matikashvili, the Committee Chair, elucidated, the Parliament takes note of the application on the resignation of the Chief of the State Security Service, while the Procedural Issues Committee issues the draft conclusion.

“The Procedural Issues Committee, in line with paragraph 3 of Article 9, and paragraph 4 of Article 212 of the Rules of Procedure, has verified the authenticity of the application addressed to the Speaker of the Parliament on August 26 concerning the voluntary resignation of Anri Okhanashvili. Correspondingly, based on the applicable law, the Committee presumes to terminate the credentials as the Chief of the Security Service for Anri Okhanashvili ahead of time”, - the draft conclusion provides.

The draft conclusion shall be submitted to the Bureau and the plenary session.
