The Speaker of the Parliament, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, together with Members of Parliament, met with interns of the Parliament and members of the Students Parliament and Student Government.

 

The meeting was held in the village of Jighaura in the Mtskheta Municipality, at the base of the Agricultural Scientific-Research Center, within the framework of an off-site sitting of the Agriculture Committee.

 

During the meeting, participants discussed the activities and role of Parliament. Particular attention was paid to the importance and priorities of developing the agricultural sector.

 

The participants were also addressed by the Chair of the Agriculture Committee, Gela Samkharauli, and the Director of the LEPL Agricultural Scientific-Research Center under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Ujmajuridze.

 

The parliamentary interns and members of the Students Parliament and Government also attended the off-site sitting of the Agriculture Committee held at the Jighaura base of the Scientific-Research Center.

 

Together with Members of Parliament, the young participants toured the unique collections of grapevine and fruit crops located at the Jighaura base of the Scientific-Research Center, as well as the laboratories at the Center’s Tsilkani base.
