The Interagency Coordinating Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Consultative Council under the Committee held a meeting 
At the initiative of the Government Administration and with the support of the United Nations Development Programme, a meeting of the Interagency Coordinating Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Consultative Council under the Committee was held.
 
The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamishvili; the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Mariam Lashkhi; and the Chair of the Health and Social Issues Committee, Zaza Lominadze.
 
Rati Ionatamishvili, Mariam Lashkhi, and Zaza Lominadze delivered welcoming remarks to the participants of the meeting.
 
Rati Ionatamishvili discussed the positive trends in services and programs for persons with disabilities reflected in Georgia’s 2026 state budget.
 
He emphasized that funding is significantly increasing, aimed at improving services and implementing new programs in this area.
 
He also spoke about the challenges Georgia faces in the process of transitioning to the biopsychosocial model.
 
During the meeting, the discussion highlighted the existing needs of persons with disabilities, which the Coordinating Committee and the Consultative Council continue to work to address.
