Meeting of Shota Khabareli with the Ambassador of Korea

Shota Khabareli, the Head of the Georgia-Korea Friendship Group, held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of Korea, H.E. Hyon Du Kim.

Shota Khabareli congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment as the Head of Mission.

As he noted, the years-long diplomatic relations between Georgia and Korea have culminated in the opening of the Embassy of Korea. The appointment of the first Ambassador will further enhance bilateral relations, fostering greater diversity and dynamism.

The parties overviewed the trade-economic relations and cooperation in tourism. As underlined, the number of Korean tourists to Georgia increases year over year, and soon, the two countries will enjoy direct flights.

In the context of investment and trade relations, the Korean diplomat emphasized that Georgia’s strategic location as a trade corridor between Europe and Asia presents a unique opportunity for cargo forwarding.

As for the Parliamentary ties, the Friendship Groups have organized numerous high-level visits of the Parliamentary Delegations, facilitating the development of Parliamentary diplomacy between the two nations.

At this juncture, the Ambassador highlighted the active participation and engagement of Shota Khabareli in strengthening parliamentary ties with Korea, leading the Friendship Group for a twelve-year tenure.
