
Member of Parliament Shota Khabareli, head of the friendship group of the Parliament of Georgia with the Parliament of the Republic of Korea, met with the Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Korea, Kim Tong Op.
The primary focus of the meeting was the enhancement of economic relations between the two nations. Additionally, discussions revolved around the establishment of the Republic of Korea's embassy in Georgia, the resumption of air travel connectivity between the two countries, and matters pertaining to the World Expo 2030.
"This was a significant meeting, highlighting the increasing interest of Asian nations, particularly the Republic of Korea, in Georgia. The discussions primarily centered around the expansion of economic ties between our countries. Notably, we are anticipating the visit of a prominent delegation from the Republic of Korea to Georgia in October, with scheduled meetings involving the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and various business stakeholders”, - Shota Khabareli commented after the meeting.
According to him, as mentioned at the meeting, the decision on the issue of opening the embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tbilisi has actually been made and the embassy will be opened by 2024.
