Sozar Subari: it is crucial to reinforce the fundamental rights rooted in our history and traditions

"Agitation and propaganda must be met with counter-agitation and propaganda. However, what we are witnessing in the world today cannot be solely labeled as propaganda; it represents a direct pressure on nation-states to align their legislation with the prevailing trend being pushed worldwide", - Sozar Subari, the Chairman of the parliamentary political group "People's Power", stated during the public discussion of the constitutional drafts "On Amendments to the Constitution of Georgia" and "On Family Values and Protection of Minors" in Batumi.

According to him, in a democratic society, no one is going to interfere in anyone's life and this will be protected, but we should not be subjected to something that is foreign to our tradition.

"Constitutional amendments are distinguished by two key aspects. Firstly, they are highly resistant to future changes. The values that these amendments seek to protect will become deeply entrenched in our national and state foundations. Secondly, they necessitate another form of universal validation — universal discussion. This underscores the importance of engaging with the population and considering their opinions. It is crucial to amend the constitution and reinforce these rights through the appropriate constitutional law, ensuring that no one considers resorting to constitutional or international courts, as no court decision can supersede the Constitution of Georgia", - Sozar Subari stated.

According to him, it is crucial to reinforce the fundamental rights rooted in our history and traditions, which hold significant importance for people of all religions.
