Meeting of Zaza Lominadze with Representative of WHO Global NCD Platform

The Chairman of the Healthcare and Social Affairs Committee, Zaza Lominadze met with members of the delegation of the WHO Global NCD Platform.

"The representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) visited Georgia with the objective of assessing and studying the situation related to non-communicable diseases and the initiatives undertaken by the Parliament of Georgia and the Ministry of Health in this domain. During their five-day visit, they will also tour various regions to evaluate the ongoing projects and lay out plans for future activities. Importantly, the guests provided a positive evaluation of the efforts made by the Parliament of Georgia in addressing non-communicable diseases and expressed satisfaction with the overall cooperation between Georgia and the WHO in this area”, - Zaza Lominadze commented after the meeting.

The Chairman of the Committee emphasized that Georgia has made significant strides in the field of tobacco control, with the invaluable contribution of the World Health Organization (WHO). Additionally, cooperation with the WHO has played a crucial role in the successful adoption of various legislative acts.

Both parties expressed their commitment to continue and strengthen their collaboration in the future.
