Meetings of the Parliamentary Group headed by Dimitri Khundadze in the National Assembly of Thailand

The Parliamentary Group headed by Dimitri Khundadze held the meetings in the supreme legislative body of Thailand. At the meeting with the Head of the Thailand-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group, the parties noted the essential role of Parliamentary diplomacy in the bilateral relations between the countries stressing the importance of the 30-year of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Thailand.
At the meeting with the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Thai Parliament, the parties touched upon the possible participation of Georgia with the observer status in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and dwelt on the processes in the world and Europe aggravated with the Russia-Ukraine war.
The parties expressed their common position on the necessity of restoration of peace and underlined their commitment to enhancing the economic links, trade relations and investments between the two countries, agreeing on the organization of the Georgian-Thai Business forum.
Georgian MPs held a meeting with the Chair of the Tourism committee of the Thai Parliament, where the parties noted that recently Georgia hosts an increased number of visitors from Thailand and similarly, Georgian citizens express their interest to visit Thailand.
The working meeting was as well dedicated to the conversation on the facilitation of regular flights, promotion of tourism potential and conclusion of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the tourism sphere. The parties expressed their will for the twinning of the ancient Capitals – Mtskheta and Ayutthaya since both cities are enrolled in UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
Georgian MPs met with the Land Committee members and introduced the Georgian experience of land reform, dwelling on the necessity to open the Georgian Representation in Thailand.
The parties agreed on the visit of the Thai Parliamentary Delegation to Georgia in May.
The meetings were attended by the Ambassador of Georgia, H.E. Archil Dzuliashvili.
The Parliamentary Delegation was composed of MPs Sozar Subari, Gela Samkharauli and Irma Zavradashvili.
