Sozar Subari: when we are exposed to pressure and demands, in response, we have to take a self-defense position and protect the supreme law – the Constitution of Georgia

“We need to counter propaganda with the same instrument but when we are exposed to pressure and demands, in response, we have to take a self-defense position and protect the supreme law – the Constitution of Georgia”, - the Chair of the Political Group “People’s Power”, Sozar Subari stated in Ozurgeti at the universal-public consideration of the Draft Constitutional Changes and the Draft Constitutional Law on the Protection of Family Values and Minors.
As he noted, the traditional rights shall be protected today which are recognized at all international levels – human rights against the attempts of certain forces to distort these rights.
“There are up to 10 million children in the world today raised in same-sex families. It is scientifically ascertained that such children encounter more acute mental problems. Another challenge is that these very children are not allowed to speak up, banned by the most powerful lobby in the world. It is the target that we aim a new Law against”, - he stated.
Per his information, no one could even imagine a couple of years ago that Greece, where Orthodoxy is an official religion, would legalize same-sex marriage, initiated by the Party coming to the authority with the positioning as a Party with conservative and traditional values.
“Let me remind you of the words of the US President in office stated when he was a Secretary of State at the meeting with the Ambassadors: “I am not interested in your culture, the supporters of the gays and lesbians constitute the mainstream of public life and those, who oppose them are marginals. The countries, failing to protect the rights of LGBT representatives shall pay a high price for their inhumanity”. In fact, it means that it is a policy that flows in as an avalanche and slides to swallow countries worldwide. This is the reason why we need to safeguard our rights through the law. We thus do not restrict any rights but protect our traditional values and rights that are guaranteed under the Constitution – these are the rights that marriage means a union between a man and a woman and which derive from our religion, our past and our ancestors. It is not an orthodox religion only. I know none of the traditional religions that fail to recognize the same values. Thus, we need to reinforce these rights on the legislative level”, - he stated.
According to him, the initiated Draft Laws are not directed to prejudice any of the rights.
“Rights of every person are protected but these rights equally shall be enjoyed by everyone. The fact that the rights of the children and the freedom of expression shall be protected, that no one shall be exposed to torture and that everyone equally enjoys the right of their own orientation – all these rights are protected – the Draft prevents us from non-traditional values”, - he stated
