As per the Bureau’s decision, the Parliament starts the consideration of the new legal initiative, envisaging the annulment of the temporary administrative-territorial unit on the territory of the Autonomous Region of the former South Ossetia as of January 1, 2026.

The Draft declares the Law on Creation of Respective Conditions for the Peaceful Resolution of the Conflict in the Autonomous Region of the former South Ossetia, and the Law on Property Restitution and Compensation of the Victims in the Autonomous Region of the former South Ossetia, as void.

Pursuant to the legal initiative developed by the Majority MPs also envisages the liquidation of the emporary administrative-territorial unit on the territory of the Autonomous Region of the former South Ossetia - South Ossetia Administration.
