Giorgi Gabunia, Chair of the Culture Committee, attended the Gala Concert of the Choirmaster Schools, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Anzor Erkomaishvili, and addressed the attendees.

 

As per his assessment, the ceremony of this evening demonstrates that the choirmaster schools continue the endeavor, initiated by Anzor Erkomaishvili, with dignity, passing down the traditions of Georgian folk singing and dancing from generation to generation.

 

The event, held at the Djansug Kakhidze Tbilisi Center for Music and Culture, featured 500 students from 45 choirmaster schools representing various regions. Unique examples of Georgian polyphony, traditional chant, choreography, and oral folklore—restored from archival recordings—were performed.

 

The concert of the choirmaster schools, dedicated to the anniversary of Anzor Erkomaishvili, was attended by the Culture Minister, Tinatin Rukhadze, as well as members of Parliament.
