"The process is quite transparent. The non-governmental sector, international organizations, and certain members of the opposition are present at the candidates' hearing. We've already developed some opinions about this or that candidate, and the Committee will vote on Saturday”, - Guram Macharashvili, a member of the Legal Issues Committee, commented after the committee session, where the Supreme Court judges were being heard.

Today, the Committee members heard two candidates - Ketevan Meskhishvili and Revaz Nadaraia.

Ketevan Meskhishvili has 10 years of experience as a judge, while Revaz Nadaraia has 11 years of experience.

During the interview, questions were also posed by representatives of non-parliamentary entities - the Chairman of the Bar Association, the Chairman of the Association of Mediators, the Director of the Legal Service and representatives of non-governmental organizations - the Young Lawyers Association and the Democracy Index.

The interview process for nine Supreme Court applicants began on July 6, and the Committee interviewed six candidates over the course of three days.

Tomorrow, July 9, the Committee will hear two more candidates for the Supreme Court - Bidzina Sturua and Lasha Kochiashvili.

The process is monitored by OSCE/ODIHR.
