Meetings of Mariam Lashkhi and Irakli Shatakishvili in Germany

Member of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament, Chairman of the Scientific-Advisory Council for Vocational Education, Mariam Lashkhi, and First Deputy Chairman of the Rules and Procedural Issues Committee, Irakli Shatakishvili, are currently engaged in working meetings in Germany.

During their visit, Mariam Lashkhi and Irakli Shatakishvili held discussions with representatives from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, as well as the Federal Institute of Vocational Education. The primary focus of these meetings was on professional education.

Specifically, they deliberated on the dual model of German vocational education and the participation of both private and public sectors in vocational education. Additionally, the discussions encompassed the ongoing thematic research initiated within the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament of Georgia. This research involves the analysis of the financing model for professional education and the identification of priority educational programs.

"Germany has one of the unique models of professional education, which involves the cooperation of private, public, and academic sectors. The professional education system of Georgia is adapted to the German dual education model, and in this direction, they promised us support in terms of sharing additional recommendations and experience. This will contribute to the development of professional education in our country", - Mariam Lashkhi stated.

During the meeting, the discussion revolved around the identification of future professions. Irakli Shatakishvili expressed interest in adopting the German model for defining future professions in Georgia.

It was highlighted during the meeting that the Education and Science Committee will persist in pursuing this objective. Additionally, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Germany, H.E. Levan Izoria, was in attendance at the meeting.
