Meeting of Mariam Lashkhi and Irakli Shatakishvili with Representatives of Private Sector within Thematic Inquiry

Mariam Lashkhi, a member of the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee, and Irakli Shatakishvili, the First Deputy Chairman of the Rules and Procedural Issues Committee, met with representatives of the private sector within the framework of the thematic inquiry on vocational education.
During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing research in the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee, aimed at highlighting the challenges related to the financing model of vocational education. Additionally, they aimed to identify priority educational programs and assess their alignment with the requirements of the labor market.
Special emphasis was placed on promoting vocational education in Georgia and enhancing the involvement of the private sector in vocational education initiatives.
"We held a meeting with the human resources management of private companies. We listened to their needs and challenges regarding employment. We discussed ways to enhance the involvement of the private sector, both in the teaching process and in improving the quality of learning. We also explored how to develop appropriate tools from the state to further encourage collaboration between the private sector and vocational education. Additionally, we heard some interesting ideas for promoting vocational education in Georgia", - Mariam Lashkhi commented after the meeting.
At the final stage of the inquiry, the Committee issues pertinent recommendations to the state agencies responsible for the development of vocational education.
