The legal amendments on the driving licenses adopted

The Parliament reviewed for the III reading the Draft Administrative Offenses Code and adopted it with 89 votes.
The norms shall be removed from the Code that allow the offenders, if they meet the conditions laid down by law, to apply to the relevant investigating body for the temporary restoration of the right to drive a vehicle.
The amendments also encompass the transitional provision, in line with which, a person who, up to and including December 16, 2025, has committed Article 116 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and other separate administrative offenses related to driving a vehicle) and/or administrative offense specified in Articles 123 (leaving the scene of a traffic accident or failing to comply with a police officer's request to stop a vehicle), will be exempted once from the administrative fine imposed for committing the mentioned offense - from the suspension of the right to drive a vehicle, however, it is still considered to be imposed an administrative fine.
The restoration of the right to drive a vehicle will be carried out gradually from January 1, 2026.
