Rati Ionatamishvili partaking in the CoE Project Opening Conference

The Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamishvili participated in the Conference dedicated to the opening of the Council of Europe project “Reinforcing Execution of the European Court's Judgments at the National Level”.
The ceremony “Parliamentary Oversight on the Execution of the European Court's Judgments in Georgia” was held in Tbilisi. R. Ionatamishvili overviewed the cooperation aspects between the Georgian Parliament and the CoE and the prospects reinforcing the execution of the ECHR judgments at the national level.
He highlighted the paramount value of the bolstering of the regulated instruments and applied practice of parliamentary oversight, as well as cooperation in this process and thanked the CoE and the participants for their engagement and support.
The Conference was attended by the representatives of the CoE Strasbourg and Georgia Offices, the Deputy Justice Minister, Beka Dzamashvili; and the representatives of the state agencies responsible for the execution of the ECHR judgments at the national level, the Public Defender Office and civil society organizations.
A new project is a subsequent phase of the project “Enhancing Implementation of Human Rights Practices and Education in Georgia” launched by the CoE Georgia Office in 2022.
