The Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee deliberated on the Draft Law on Entrepreneurs

The Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee deliberated on the Draft Law on Entrepreneurs, introduced by Shota Berekashvili, Chair of the Economic Policy Committee.
The Draft Law submitted for expedited consideration establishes the legal basis, according to which, the representative of the state, Abkhazia or Ajara AR to the Supervisory Board of the enterprises operating with 50% or under 50% participation of the state, Abkhazia or Ajara AR may be a public servant if he/she has no conflict of interests therein. The amendments hereof are conditioned by the conclusion of the investment agreement between“Eagle Hills” and the Georgian Government.
The amendment was developed with the initiative of Shota Berekashvili and Levan Machavariani.
Zurab Iashvili, Deputy Regional Development Minister, elucidated the Draft Organic Law on Normative Acts. According to him, the amendment pertains to the promulgation of the normative acts adopted by the representative bodies of the municipality.
Pursuant to the Draft, the term for the submission of the normative act adopted by the representative body of the municipality to the Legislative Herald of Georgia shall be determined with no later than 5 days, instead of no later than 2 days.
The Committee also deliberated on the Draft Forest Code for the summary consideration, introduced by Zurab Ezugbaia, Deputy Environmental Protection and Agriculture Minister. The Draft postpones the term for the social forest harvesting with a term of one year, specifically, the forest management agencies acquire the power to provide the local population and the border sector with the woods as of January 1, 2027.
The Committee approved the Drafts.
