Shalva Papuashvili met with the Vice-President of India, the Speaker of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament

The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the Vice-President of India, the Speaker of the Upper House (Rajya Sabha) of the Indian Parliament, Shri Radhakrishnan.
The parties noted that Georgia and India are connected by friendly and productive relations, which continue to develop on the basis of mutual respect.
During the meeting, the significance of the historic visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia to the Republic of India was emphasized as an important opportunity to deepen inter-parliamentary relations.
The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, including parliamentary ties, as well as collaboration in the fields of trade and economy, investment, tourism, education, and culture.
The meeting also addressed current developments in the respective regions of the two countries.
The importance of peace and stability was underscored. Particular attention was drawn to the potential of the Middle Corridor and the prospects for cooperation in this direction.
The meeting was held within the framework of Shalva Papuashvili’s official visit to India.
The parliamentary delegation includes: the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze; the Head of the Georgia–India Friendship Group, Vasil Chigogidze; the Chair of the Economic Policy Committee, Shota Berekashvili; and the Deputy Chair of the Georgian Dream Parliamentary Faction, Greta Tsitsava.
