In India, Nikoloz Samkharadze provided accounts on the pivot of the South Caucasus
Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, moderated the discussion organized by the leading research center of India - Observer Research Foundation.
 
In his address on Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, Nikoloz Samkharadze focused on the situation in Georgia’s regions occupied by Russia, the non-recognition policy, and the peaceful plan for restoring territorial integrity. He also spoke about Georgia’s  EU and NATO integration process, along with the related challenges.
 
He emphasized the importance of trade diversification and the need to conclude free trade agreements with various countries around the world, including India.
 
Nikoloz Samkharadze also discussed the factors contributing to Georgia’s economic growth and its investment potential, as well as the Middle Corridor, energy, and logistics projects.
 
Following the presentation, the discussion continued in a question-and-answer format on the priority areas of Georgia–India relations, the security environment in the Black Sea region, the impact of Russia’s ongoing aggression in Ukraine, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and Georgia’s pivotal role as a mediator, as well as UN reform and the role of both large and small states in a multipolar world order.
 
Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in India, as well as members of the media and academic circles, participated in the discussion.
 
Nikoloz Samkharadze is visiting India together with the parliamentary delegation headed by the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
 
The parliamentary delegation also includes: Vasil Chigogidze, Head of the Georgia-India Friendship Group, Shota Berekashvili, Chair of the Economic Policy Committee, and Greta Tsitsava, Deputy Chair of the Faction “Georgian Dream”.
