The Deputy Economy and Sustainable Development Minister, Vakhtang Tsintsadze introduced the documents for ratification to the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee, specifically the Loan Agreement between Georgia and IBRD (Project Log-InGeorgia additional funding).

The agreement envisages the allocation of an additional 40 ml USD for the construction of the internet fiber-optic network countrywide.

The reporter dwelt on the construction of the fiber-optic network for active internet coverage of the country.

“At this stage, the 2000-km section has been completed, 1050 km of infrastructure is under construction and 1500 km of network will soon be built”, - he stated.

The reporter also introduced the Letter-Agreement of the Change N2 to the Loan Agreement between Georgia and IBRD (Log-In Georgia project), extending the term for the already allocated 80 ml USD for internet network construction.

The amendment extends the loan refund term from 2025 to December 20, 2027.

The Committee approved the documents.
