The Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee members held a working meeting with the representatives of the Regional Development, the Finance, and the Economy and Sustainable Development Ministries, and the Mayors of Municipalities.

 

The Regional Development Minister, Kakhaber Guledani, introduced novel legal initiatives of the Ministry to be soon submitted to the Parliament. 

 

The discourse included the municipal cooperation aspects, the delegation and disposal of the property by the municipalities, the municipal budgets, the grants, the construction permits and the oversight issues. 

 

“At the meeting, we reviewed the ways of further consumption of the regional development funds. We touched upon the rural program, regarding which the Mayors expressed their positions. Upon the deliberations, it was underlined that the rural development program is a pivotal direction, however, it still requires further modernization and modifications, specifically, the increase of the allocations to cover all the respective needs. We agreed to convene the extended meeting to further deliberate on the aforementioned issues”, - Irakli Kadagishvili, Chair of the Committee noted.
