Shalva Papuashvili met with the Delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The Speaker of the Parliament, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with the Head of the Turkey-Georgia Friendship Group of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Faruk Çelik and the Group members.
The parties underscored the intact friendship between the two nations.
Shalva Papuashvili extended his condolences regarding the plane crash of the military transport ship of the Turkish Air Force on Georgian territory. Faruk Çelik emphasised the valuable involvement and support of the Georgian side, which, he stated, demonstrated true friendship.
The positive dynamics of the high-level and summary visits during 2025 were underlined.
Speaker Papuashvili recalled his productive visit to Turkey in June, which has prompted renewed interest in parliamentary relations.
The parties dwelt on parliamentary cooperation and the close links between the friendship groups and the committees.
The commitment for further enhancing bilateral relations, as well as the significance of the trilateral cooperation between Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan, were highlighted.
Shalva Papuashvili expressed his gratitude to Turkey for supporting Georgia at various international platforms.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Georgia-Turkey Friendship Group, Giorgi Chkonia.
